ABOUT
Alphen House – situated on Beach Road , Sea Point, A residential apartment block. A project awarded to Qabani in late 2024 to undertake the full restoration to the exterior of the building. The building was in neglect and falling into a dilapidated condition. The scope of works included :
- full replastering to all existing wall exterior surfaces
- re-waterproofing to the DPC cavity detail, all pointing to the exposed existing face brick facades.
- waterproofing with a torch on system to the concrete slabs including new screeds.
- replacement of bricks on external facades where required.
- replacement off all wall to frame sealant with a Polyurethane system to allow for adequate movement between the different substates.
- Installation of purpose made aluminium waterproofing sills to fit under the existing aluminium windows.
- a new coat of painting system.
Our involved suppliers we worked with closely were Midas Paints Woodstock , Sika waterproofing systems and IPMT ( institute of Paint Management & Training ) The contract was over a duration of 9 months and was a very successful project.
